THOMAS SYNAN, JR., CHIEF OF POLICE

Chief Synan is a graduate of the Scarlet Oaks Police Academy and also served in the United States Marine Corps. He is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College. He is a 13-year veteran of the Newtown Police Division, and has completed specialized training in several areas, including Human Diversity, Hotel/Motel Criminal Interdiction, Narcotic Investigations, Child Sexual Abuse, Critical Incidents, Terrorist Identification, Crime Prevention/Community Relations and is a Certified Field Training Officer, as well as a Police Mountain Bike Instructor. He is a member of the Ohio Crime Prevention Association, the International Police Mountain Bike Association, Hamilton County SWAT and F.O.P. Lodge #112.
LIEUTENANT S. MCBREEN

Lt. McBreen is a graduate of the Butler County Police Academy. He has been an officer with the Newtown Police Division since 2001. He was previously a Loss Prevention Specialist at Meijers Department Stores. Lt. McBreen has completed specialized training in several areas, including Loss Prevention, Crime Scene Evidence Collection, Evidence and Property Room Management, Incident Negotiations, Civil Liability, and Sexual Assaults. Lt. McBreen is a member of F.O.P. Lodge #112, and the Butler County Farm Bureau. Lt. McBreen is a Field Training Officer, and Certified Crime Scene Evidence Technician. He is also a member of the Newtown Police Honor Guard Unit.
OFFICER S. BISCHOFF

Officer Bischoff is a graduate the Great Oaks Police Academy. He earned his degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Cincinnati. He has been an officer with the Newtown Police Division since late 2002. He was previously a corrections officer with the Hamilton County Sheriffs Office, and a police officer in the Village of Terrace Park.
SERGEANT J. VONTZ

Officer Vontz is a graduate of the Southern Hills Police Academy, located in Brown County. He has been an officer with the Newtown Police Division since late 2002. Officer Vontz served in the United States Army. He was previously a police officer with the City of Georgetown, Ohio, since 1992. Officer Vontz has received extensive specialized training in firearms, and is assigned as the Departmental Firearms Instructor. He is a licensed pilot, and also a member of the Newtown Police Honor Guard Unit.
OFFICER K. ORSO

Officer Orso is a graduate of the Great Oaks Police Academy. He has been an officer with the Newtown Police Division since October of 2002. Beginning in 1991, he was previously employed as a police dispatcher/officer in the City of Golf Manor. Officer Orso has extensive specialized training and knowledge of Computer Information Systems and Internet technologies. In early 2007, Officer Orso completed Orientation and Advanced Search/Rescue training to become a regional resource for Ohio Child Abduction Response Team (C.A.R.T.).
OFFICER J. BRAUN

Officer Braun is a graduate of the Butler County Police Academy. Officer Braun has been a Newtown Police Officer since late 2004. He was previously employed as a police officer with the Village of Newtownsville. Officer Braun has received specialized training in Death Investigations, Auto Crash Investigations, Intermediate Weapons, and HazMat Incidents and is assigned to Evidence Room Management.
OFFICER R. HUBER 
Officer Huber is a graduate of the Great Oaks Police Academy, and also served in the United States Marine Corps. Officer Huber has been an officer of the Newtown Police Division since March 2005. He has received specialized training in the concepts of Community Policing, Narcotics Identification, and Advanced Detection, Apprehension and Prosecution of DUI offenders. He is also a member of the Newtown Police Honor Guard Unit.
OFFICER R. KAISER
Officer Kaiser is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati Police Academy, Clermont Branch. Officer Kaiser has been an officer of the Newtown Police Division since March 2005, and was previously employed as a police officer by the Village of Williamsburg, Ohio. He has received specialized training in Loss Prevention, Death Investigations, and the X26 Taser.
OFFICER K. BARG
Officer Barg graduated from Glen Este High School and attended the University of Cincinnati where he earned an Associates and Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. He graduated Valedictorian from the University of Cincinnati Police Academy, Clermont branch in 2006. Officer Barg also served six years with the Army National Guard, including a tour in Kosovo. Officer Barg was previously employed as a police officer at the Village of Williamsburg and joined the Newtown Police Department in October 2007.
OFFICER M. WEDDING
Officer Michael Wedding was promoted to full-time officer status in April of 2008.
